Stephen Ministry

Stephen Leaders: Anne Swift, Alice Rokahr, Matt Stone

What is Stephen Ministry?

Stephen Ministry is trained Christian lay caregivers, called Stephen Ministers, who provide one-on-one Christian care to hurting people in and connected to our congregation. The Stephen Ministers meet with their care receivers for about an hour a week for as long as the person needs this level of care. Stephen Ministers participate  in supervision and continuing education with the Stephen Leaders, who recruit, select, and train the Stephen Ministers.

Who is eligible for a Stephen Minister?

Stephen Ministers provide one-on-one Christian care to the bereaved, hospitalized, terminally ill, separated, divorced, unemployed, relocated, and others facing a crisis or life challenge.

How do I get a Stephen Minister?

Stephen Leaders assign Stephen Ministers to people with care needs. If you or someone you know is facing a crisis or life challenge, contact one of St. John's Stephen Leaders or pastors.
